The owner is having an architect designed extension to the house making the garden slightly smaller. Although it’s an awkwardly shaped plot, this presented a great opportunity for clever space usage with two well proportioned seating areas. Luxurious yet calming plants will be used throughout the garden to create privacy around the boundaries which back onto a pavement and road. This is a particularly complex redesign with a significant new level change in the centre of the garden to lower the half nearest the house allowing more light into the basement rooms. A water feature and ‘green-steps’ into the basement will give the garden a sense of peace and tranquility.
