Description

Still Wild about Weeds

Five years of encouraging wildflowers in gardens

On 21st October 2024 it will be the five year anniversary of the release of my first gardening book, Wild about Weeds: Garden Design with Rebel Plants. In many ways it has shaped my life more than I’d imagined and taken on a life of its own, readers have contacted me from all around the world; Canada and the USA, Japan to Australia, across Europe and the Middle East. I can’t quite believe five years have past, and at the same time, it does feel like a lifetime ago.

I felt it was worth marking the anniversary by revisiting Wild about Weeds, to look back on some of its core messages and how they still feel relevant today. Also to share some of the thoughts I’ve had since and further plants I’ve learnt more about not mentioned in the original book.

The event will cover…

  • Reflections on the book five years since it was released
  • How the world has changed for wildflowers since 2019
  • What I learnt from publishing my first book
  • Behind the scenes events that caused sleepless nights
  • How Wild about Weeds has shaped my garden designs and beyond
  • An exclusive new selection of weedy wildflowers you can grow beyond those in the book, studied and grown across the UK in my designs
  • What I’m working on now and looking to the future
  • Discussion and questions with you – about gardens, wildflowers, design, writing, whatever you’d like to ask!

Book a ticket now and you’ll be sent a link to the event nearer the date as a reminder.

It will be held on Zoom which requires:

  • Good internet connection
  • Sound to listen to the event
  • A microphone if you want to contribute to the questions and discussion section
  • Best viewed on a laptop or PC but is accessible on mobile phones

The one-off event won’t be recorded.
