At the weekend Chris and I attended the most beautiful wedding of our friends George and Rosanna Ryan at the Parish Church of St Mary’s in Painswick, Cotswolds. I’d already seen some photos of the topiary yew trees but I hadn’t appreciated there were 99 of them. Legend has it that if a hundredth tree is planted the devil will come and pull it out by the roots. I know I won’t be trying. There’s a lot to say about the beauty of the trees and rather than write about it, I’ll say it in pictures.
Since I can’t be there to see it for myself, much thanks for sharing these!
My great great great grandfather, William Webb, planted those trees.
Oh how wonderful! Thanks for letting me know Rosemary 🙂
